Email marketing is one of the MOST effective methods of online promotion. Done correctly, it is the best way to reach a large number of prospects, get them into your program, and get them productive right from the start.

But if you don't do it correctly, you're going to get yourself into trouble - AND not get much response! And if you don't have the right tools, you'll find it much more tedious than any other promotional method.

That's why it pays to think very carefully about what you are doing, and to set up your promotional campaign to produce the optimum results right from the start.

First things first. If you are going to use email marketing to promote SFI, Smart Mall, MegaOpp MLM Dynamite, MMTC, or ANY program at all - you first need PROSPECTS!

Please understand that a PROSPECT is not just any old email address you happened to find on a web site online. Or a bulk emailing list that someone scavenged off a bunch of web sites. Prospects are people who have ASKED to receive more information.

Two of the best sources of prospects are: 1-our very own co- op advertising programs; and 2-Leaders Club leads.

Each of our co-ops provides opt-in prospects who have asked for more information on that specfic program. We do the first mailing to these prospects and send them to your signup URL. Then we send you your list of prospects to continue your followup. This is where your own email marketing campaign should kick in.

The second source of opt-in leads that we recommend is a good lead-generating MLM program, such as Traffic Oasis or Leaders Club. They provide generic leads of prospects who have asked for more information about MLM programs. We recommend them very highly, as we get many, many new signups from our Traffic Oasis and Leaders Club leads every month. Okay, if you are hooked into our co-ops and into Leaders Club or Traffic Oasis, you have a good source of all the good prospects you will ever need to build yourself a large downline (and a very nice full-time income!)

Once you have prospects, you need to have a series of highly-effective followup letters to send them on a schedule.

Notice that I said SERIES. One-shot mailings are no more effective online than they are offline. In fact, they are even less effective.

People online have a LOT of distractions and get a LOT of email. If you want your prospects to read your letters and get interested in what you have to offer - then you MUST contact them many times. One-shot mailings just won't do it.

Each of the member support sites I have listed above has a complete set of followup letters that you can modify and use for your own email marketing campaigns. All you'll need to do is go through and change the URL's in these emails to your own, and sign your own name to the letters. Then you'll be all set.

On top of that, if you want to really get results, you need to be sending your followup series to as MANY new prospects as you can every month. In our own case, we buy and work thousands of prospects every month. And we get LOTS of signups.

You may not be able to afford that many at the start, but please expect to put some money into your business every month if you expect to succeed. Budget an amount that you can afford every month, then consistently buy and work your prospects. As your income increases, increase the number of prospects that you are working. If you will do that consistently, you will soon find that your downline is growing very quickly - and your income as well!

Now if you are working a lot of prospects, you are going to find it very tedious and time-consuming to try to email your followup messages individually to every prospect. Can you imagine having a list of 100 prospects, and sending each of them 10 followup letters over a period of a month? You would end up preparing and sending out 1,000 emails! That's a LOT of work.

And there is no reason for it. Your email marketing campaign can be automated very easily using readily available tools.

One of the easiest and most important tools for your email marketing campaign is a followup autoresponder.

A followup autoresponder allows you to input your 10 followup letters once, then specify at what interval to send out each letter. We usually space out our mailings at 2-4 days between each letter. Many followup autoresponder companies also allow you to import your own list into your followup autoresponder. This is the type of system that we recommend you look for. If you are using Traffic Oasis leads, Leaders Club leads, or our co-op leads (or all 3), you want a system you can import those leads into quickly and easily.

If you are in Leaders Club, please note that they have their own Global Group Send email system that allows you to import your leads, store your letters, and schedule your mailings. This system is fine if you will be sending out up to 10,000 emails a month to prospects.

However, please note that isn't very many if you are working a lot of prospects. Let's say you have 1,000 prospects to work. Sending out 10 followup letters will use up your 10,000 mailings. That's not a bad limitation when you are getting started. But down the road, you will probably want more capacity, particularly if you are emailing several followup series to your prospects. Or, if you want to send out a series to your downline. That's where a good followup autoresponder system comes in.

It is a big plus if the company you go with gives you as many followup autoresponders as you want. I can recommend a new company that gives you an unlimited number of autoresponders with an unlimited number of messages in each. And this company charge you about the same amount as the companies that only give you ONE followup autoresponder.

Why is this important? Well, think about it. Your email promotional campaign won't be the only emailing you want to do as you build your business. Down the road, you may want to start an ezine. That's a guaranteed way to sell products and get members in your downline - and do all the free advertising that you want! A followup autoresponder is one of the easiest ways to collect subscribers and deliver your ezine. We deliver 5 of our newsletters and generate subscribers using followup autoresponders.

You may want to use a followup autoresponder to send out a training series to members of your downline. We have SFI and Smart Mall training series on followup autoresponders. You may have a 2nd program you want to promote. Having another followup autoresponder allows you to set up another series of followup letters to automatically send to prospects. We have our own followup autoresponder for every program that we seriously promote.

And you had better believe that we get a lot of signups this way! And it works almost automatically. Every month, we simply import our leads into each autoresponder, and then let it crank out our followup series to these prospects day in and day out. We get signups every day.

Please note that you can also use your followup autoresponder address in your ads. Sending your prospects to your autoresponder instead of your signup URL for the program you are promoting will get you a lot more signups. Why is that? Because you will be contacting those prospects multiple times with your message, not just once!

These followup autoresponder systems are very cheap when you consider the amount of unlimited mass mailing you'll be able to do. No matter how much your business and your marketing grows, you'll still be able to use the system efficiently.

This is much cheaper and easier than getting your own server and buying or renting expensive Listserv software (and trying to figure out how to use it!)

One additional reason to use an autoresponder system for your email marketing is to keep yourself out of spam trouble.

All good followup autoresponder systems include remove links with every email they send out. They immediately delete remove requests from your list. That saves you a lot of work and a big headache.

That certainly doesn't mean you can just add any email address you find to your autoresponder account! Please don't do that if you want to keep yourself out of trouble. ONLY use email addresses of people who have opted in. That means that you purchase your prospects from reputable sources, such as Traffic Oasis, one of our co-ops, or Leaders Club.
