Working an MLM program on the internet is basically the same as doing it offline.

It still involves marketing, working with prospects, recruiting them into your MLM program, building a downline, training and motivating your downline, and building a reputation online and in the network marketing community.

However, it can be much easier online, with the added benefit of being able to reach many times more people quickly and easily. It is also easier to find a large group of people in your target market.

Unlike programs of the past, network marketing online doesn't require meetings, personal selling, alienating friends and family, or spending hundreds of dollars for phone calls every month.

Using internet technology, it is much easier to deliver prospects all the information they need to make a decision, to contact downline members all over the globe quickly and easily (and cheaply!), and to work with hundreds of prospects at a time. Not so offline!

As a network marketer who worked my business through direct mail for over 10 years, I often spent hundreds of dollars every month just in postage, hundreds more for printing (that often had to be trashed when my company made even a minor change to the products or program), and hundreds more on a print newsletter and long-distance telephone contact.

Working by telephone became a nightmare the larger my organization grew. It involved being on the phone at all hours of the day and night to reach some of my members in different time zones, plus all the inefficiencies and wasted time of phone tag.

Working online is cheaper and easier in every one of these areas. And the extra time and money I save allow me to spend more of it building a larger business (and a larger commission check, I might add).

Many MLM companies already have an online presence. They may have a corporate website with information on their products and opportunity. They may have training and sales materials on a website for their distributors to use. They may also provide "cloned" distributor websites that allow members to sign up new members into their downline from their own personal website, or to sell product. Many MLM companies were built to be online businesses, and provide products and services that are essential to online success.

Being successful online with an MLM program means learning to use online technology for doing the essential activities involved in building an MLM business.

It means learning how to find good places online to advertise that target people likely to be interested in your opportunity; learning to write ads and sales materials that effectively generate prospects; learning how to set up an automated system that can handle many times more people in terms of giving them information about the opportunity and training them once they become distributors, as well; email marketing techniques; perhaps building a personal website or publishing an ezine that attracts targeted prospects and then converts them into downline members; and effectively using email to stay in touch with your downline and keep them motivated.

Most of the MLM sites we have visited are centered on recruiting people into the owner's specific network marketing program. Their training info is pretty specific to their own MLM company.

We take the opposite tactic. We provide generic training and resources of value to ANY network marketer promoting ANY MLM program first, and second we give them the opportunity to work with us in our chosen program and show them how to do it online.
