Most people choose an MLM program for all the wrong reasons.

They go for glitzy, one-of-a-kind sizzle products, the latest Australian reverse binary super-cycler compensation plan, guaranteed to make everyone zillions in just a few weeks, and hyped ads that promise massive upline spillover, little work and lots of pay, and "can't lose" pre-launch opportunities.

"______ Goes MLM" (you fill in the blank).

If you've been in this business awhile, you know what I'm talking about. You may even have been involved in some of these programs. I've seen hundreds of them come and go over the years. And I've seen a lot of would-be MLM'ers jump in and out of them. It's part of the reason for the "revolving- door syndrome" that has plagued the network marketing industry for so long.

Unless you choose an opportunity that has the highest probability of generating long-term success for YOU, you will continue to be trapped in the revolving door! Or you'll quit altogether, convincing yourself that MLM is a scam that just doesn't work!

Choosing the right MLM opportunity can save you months, and even years, of frustration. It will save you hundreds of dollars in startup costs. The right choice will insure you a quick start, good training, access to the tools you need to succeed, and an easy-to-duplicate system that will get you in profit as quickly as possible.

So just how do you choose the right opportunity?

I'm going to make a very controversial statement: Product is NOT the most important consideration in choosing an MLM opportunity. Nor is the MLM company!

One of the most pervasive MLM myths is that product is the #1 criteria in selecting an MLM program. Old-timers in this industry are particularly adamant in that belief. And they may have been right 20 or 30 years ago when a majority of the MLM compensation plans were built around retailing product.

But most of the MLM programs of today build their compensation plans on the reality that most people would rather dig ditches for a living than retail product! The MLM plans of today emphasize building a network of people who each consume or retail a small amount of product each month. In my experience, product rates a distant third in importance when choosing an MLM opportunity! And not for the reasons the old timers will tell you.

The particular MLM company you choose is likewise NOT the biggest consideration in choosing the right opportunity for you.

There are now thousands of MLM programs in existence. Companies that offer cutting-edge nutritional products number in the hundreds. And no matter how many doctors they get to endorse their specific products, you will find that the ones that have been in business for a while ALL offer good products. Many of these companies offer similar compensation plans as well.

It is pretty safe to say that you could make a lot of money in many different MLM programs if you make your choice based on the most important criteria.

How to Find the MLM Opportunity of Your Dreams!

I want you to especially note that I am talking about choosing an OPPORTUNITY, not an MLM "company" or "program." You can choose the best, most progressive company in the entire MLM industry, with the most generous compensation plan, and still fail to ever earn a penny!

Just choosing a good company is not enough. It's not even the most important consideration.

The right OPPORTUNITY spells the difference between getting started immediately and floundering around for months trying to figure out how to recruit your first member. Just finding a good company won't give you the training and support system you need to build your business quickly.

The right OPPORTUNITY is the difference between breaking even quickly on your purchases and needing dozens of people in your downline just to get your first check.

The right OPPORTUNITY is the difference between having a downline that drops out as fast as you can recruit them, and having a group of dynamic, working members!

You see, the right MLM OPPORTUNITY is more than just the company or the compensation plan or the products or the sponsor. It includes all of these and more! If you want to build a business quickly, you need all the pieces to the puzzle.

There are 4 very important components of the perfect OPPORTUNITY for YOU, but the first 2 are critical:

1. An Exceptional Upline Support Team

2. A Compensation Plan that Rewards Part-timers, but also Offers Generous Leadership Bonuses for Heavy Hitters.

3. Good, useful, fairly priced products or services that members will happily buy month after month.

4. An MLM company with a good track record, low debt, good management, a good product development strategy, and a good customer support organization in place.

In this article, we'll just look at the first of these important components.

If you want to make a lot of money in MLM, and make it as quickly as possible, you absolutely MUST join an Exceptional Support Team! This is more important than the company you join or the products you promote! It's the #1 criteria for choosing an opportunity that will make you the most money in the least amount of time.

This is absolutely critical! No matter how experienced a network marketer you are, without the right support team you can expect to spend many months and hundreds of dollars just doing the work to get started!

You see, I've found hardly any network marketing companies that provide effective sales materials, let alone an efficient recruiting system that new members can plug right into.

If you don't have a good upline support organization and you want to recruit a lot of members fast, you will have to create your own system. You'll be making money a lot faster if you don't have to create everything from scratch!

A good upline support organization will already have tested, effective marketing materials available to you. They'll also have an automatic recruiting system, such as a nationwide co-op advertising program, already in place. All you have to do is plug into the system and get started!

And a good support organization will not only have an exceptional recruiting system already in place, but will also provide training for the entire downline organization. And whether you're a newcomer, or a seasoned MLM pro, that will benefit you!

If you're a newcomer, you'll learn how to build your business from an organization that can train you and get you productive fast. If you're a pro, you'll have plenty of help training your own members.

A professional, successful upline support organization may provide: training newsletters, conference calls, and even complete web sites for their members. A professional organization will include tested sales materials and an automatic recruiting system that every member can use to build their group.

Most people never even investigate their upline when they are examining a network marketing opportunity. They may do a thorough investigation of the company, and even talk to their prospective sponsor a few times. They may even run the numbers on the compensation plan. But they never even ask who their upline will be.

That's a big mistake. With a solid support organization that has terrific recruiting services for all members, you can make money in even a mediocre MLM program!

And even if the MLM program dies, a good support organization won't. They'll simply find a better opportunity for their group and place everyone into it in their current position. That way no one loses what he or she has worked so hard to build.

When you are seriously looking for an MLM opportunity, I would urge you to first look at support organizations. Find a group that offers an automatic recruiting system for all members, ongoing training, and frequent communication. Find a group that is growing and that members are really excited about. Once you've found the organization, then look for a sponsor within that organization.
